With winter on its way out, it's time to start thinking about spring cleaning and, as part of that, tending to your regular BMW maintenance routine. Just like your home, your car needs a thorough, yearly cleaning to ensure that it's ready for the spring - and summer - ahead. But, more than that, it's essential that you also get your BMW inspected and maintained according to the manufacturer's specifications. While you can perform a number of critical tasks in your own driveway, there are some that should be executed by a professional BMW repair shop. In today's post, we're going to look at a few things that you can take care of on your own and a few that you can entrust to the team at Atlantic Autowerks.

Basic cleaning

Naturally, it's easiest to start with the outside. During winter, debris and road salt accumulate on your car's exterior. Over time, this can compromise your BMW's paint, causing bubbling, chipping, and - worst of all - rust. To combat this, start the spring off with a long, thorough car wash and wax.

Check your tires

When the temperature rises, tire pressures increase. If you added air to your tires during the winter, it's very likely that your tires are now overinflated. Capable of affecting your car's mileage, fuel economy, and overall performance, we recommend checking your tire pressure any time there are drastic changes in the temperature.

Perform essential maintenance

At Atlantic Autowerks, we offer a wide range of BMW maintenance services. If you really want to ensure that your vehicle is in top shape, performing at its peak ability, and ready for the warmer months to come, we encourage you to drop by to discuss oil changes, tire balancing, A/C diagnosis, wheel alignments, and more.
