If you've got a MINI Cooper and you're concerned about winter driving, we're here to tell you that you've got nothing to worry about. By taking a few extra steps to ensure that your vehicle is ready, you can prep for - and overcome - uncertain winter driving conditions. In fact, the MINI Cooper is considered a fairly solid winter vehicle, as it has front-wheel drive, anti-lock brakes and automatic stability control. In this post, we're going to talk about how you can stay safe by getting your MINI prepped for the winter.

Invest in snow tires

Above all else, if you expect snow: invest in snow tires! Snow tires will ensure that your MINI can get traction on wet, icy or otherwise slippery roads. Without proper tires, many of the advanced safety features in the MINI are rendered less effective.

Get a brake inspection

The MINI Cooper has some very advanced safety features, including anti-lock brakes, dynamic and automatic stability control. These features are great for navigating snowy roads but, if your brakes aren't working... you've got bigger problems. Be sure to have your brakes checked - and replaced, if necessary - before the first major snowfall.

Replace the small stuff

Wiper fluid, windshield wipers and tail lights are all essential to safe winter driving. Even if you can count on your MINI to keep you safe in the winter... broken tail lights introduce a different kind of risk. Stop by your MINI Cooper repair shop and make sure that all the "small stuff" is taken care of.

At Atlantic Autowerks, we want all of our customers to stay safe this winter. With difficult road conditions ahead, we encourage everyone to bring their MINI Cooper in, have it inspected and have all essential systems maintained. If you're concerned about driving this winter, give us a call and let us help you out!
