Bob Brochu - Co-owner and President  -  Bob started in the automotive field in summer of 1969, after he graduated from West Springfield HS in Springfield, Va.  He worked part time for Firestone and went to Va Tech studying Mechanical Engineering. In the mid Seventies, Bob went to work on Toyota's and Volvo's at Miller Toyota Volvo in Manassas, Va.; where he achieved Certified Master Status with both the Toyota and Volvo as well as a Master with the ASE auto certification program. He achieved Certified Master status with BMW in 1987. Moving to Va. Beach in Sept 1988, Bob continued working for BMW at the Kline BMW dealership on Laskin Road. In Dec 1989, Bob joined up with other co-workers, one was his current partner, Terry Baker, and they started Atlantic Autowerks, Ltd. Bob's motto is to take care of the customer as if it were his own!   Fix it Right the First Time at a fair price, using top quality OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts, and in a respectable amount of time!

Terry Baker - Co-owner and Vice-President - Terry has been a BMW technician since 1973. He bought his first BMW in 1970 just before working for VOB Auto Sales in Rockville, MD from 1971-1973. In 1973 Terry started his career as a technician at Heishman BMW in Arlington, VA. In 1983 Terry came  to Virginia Beach and went to work for Atlantic BMW before it became Kline BMW. After Kline BMW was sold in 1989 Terry went to work with a few of his friends and co-workers at Kline BMW to open Atlantic Autowerks, Ltd. Terry earned his BMW Master Technician certificate in 1986 and has over 33 years BMW experience. He Co-founded the BMWCCA National Capital Chapter in 1970 and is still very active in the club today. Terry currently autocrosses a modified 1999 BMW 323i and a MINI Cooper, which is also his daily driver, and competes on a National level.
 

Steven Brochu - Parts and Service Manager  -  Steve is relatively new to the automotive industry having only trained as a technician for a year at J&F Motors in Arlington, Virginia. He has been working with Atlantic Autowerks, Ltd. for 2 1/2 years and was just recently promoted to Parts and Service Manager. He has a management background coming from Blockbuster video where he held an Assistant Manager position at two different locations. Steve also has leadership experience having been a U.S. ARMY Ranger with the 3rd Battalion in Fort Benning, Georgia. He has taken several courses in related fields such as Small Engine Repair, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Programmable Logic Controllers, Welding, and he was certified from the Hunter Alignment School in Jessup, Maryland.
 
Mike Shimandle Assistant parts and Service manager - Mike graduated the Auto Technology program at the Norfolk Skills Center and was hired directly into an instructor's position. He instructed students in the field of automotive technology from January 1989 through June 2005. Mike is an ASE Master Auto Tech and has been certified since 1996. He also has his M.A.C.S. R-12 certification which he earned in 1991. Mike also has experience in management as he was a traveling trainer and beverage service manager for Spinnaker's restaurant. Mike has been providing excellent service for Atlantic Autowerks, Ltd. since August 2005.
 

David Brochu  - Technician  - David is currently a factory trained BMW Master Certified Technician. He is also ASE Master Certified and a Virginia State Inspector. He has been with BMW for the past seven years and in the automotive industry for 12 years. Starting out in the AYES program working at Virginia Beach Dodge through high school then attending Universal Technical Institute and the intensive BMW STEP program. During his training time he also worked at AutoZone as a parts counter person and trained at Park Ave BMW in New Jersey. After his training he went to work at Casey BMW for three years before going to Checkered Flag BMW to continue up-to-date training on BMW's and Hunter Equipment. David also autocrosses on a local level and attends driving events at road courses such as VIR and Summit Point in his E36 BMW.

Ralph Brown - Technician - Ralph has been with Atlantic Autowerks, Ltd. for 11 years. He has been in the automotive service industry for fifteen years. Ralph specializes in automotive service and repair, flood vehicles, and is renowned as one of the best automotive detailers in the area. Ralph got his education from New York City Technical College and has been a resident of Virginia for 13 years. He is undergoing technical training at Atlantic Autowerks and pursuing his certifications with the ASE program.
